PM Modi further said that after 2014, difficulties are reducing in the North East, people are developing. Today, when someone comes to the tribal areas of Assam, goes to other states of the North East, he also feels good to see the situation changing.
New Delhi:
PM Modi Today is on a tour of Assam. In Diphu, Assam, PM Modi said that it is a happy coincidence that today when the country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, we are also celebrating the 400th birth anniversary of the great son of this land, Lachit Borphukan. His life is an inspiration of patriotism and national power. I bow down to this great hero of the country from Karbi Anglong.
The PM Further said that the government of double engine, wherever it is, works with the spirit of everyone’s support, everyone’s development, everyone’s faith and everyone’s effort. Today, this resolution has become strong again on this land of Karbi Anglong. The work of implementing the agreement that was made for the permanent peace and rapid development of Assam is going on at a fast pace. Today, the work of making more than 2600 Amrit Sarovar is starting in Assam also. The construction of lakes is entirely based on public participation. Such lakes have a rich tradition in the tribal society. With this, water reserves will be created in the villages, along with this it will also become a source of income.
He further said that since 2014, difficulties are reducing in the North East, people are developing. Today, when someone comes to the tribal areas of Assam, goes to other states of the North East, he also feels good to see the situation changing. Apart from Assam, NLFT also took steps on the path of peace in Tripura. The problem related to Bru-Reang, which was going on for almost two and a half decades, has also been resolved.
In September last year, many organizations of Karbi Anglong joined the resolution for peace and development. The Bodo accord in 2020 opened new doors for lasting peace. For a long time, Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) has been in many states of North East, but due to the implementation of permanent peace and better law and order during the last 8 years, we have removed AFSPA from many areas of North East.
With the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, today a solution is being sought for the issues related to the border. The agreement made between Assam and Meghalaya will encourage other matters as well. This will strengthen the aspirations of the development of this entire region. The culture of the tribal society, its language, food, art, handicrafts, all these are the rich heritage of India. Assam is even more prosperous in this matter. This cultural heritage unites India, strengthens the spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
He further said that in this nectar of independence, Karbi Anglong is also moving towards a new future of peace and development. Now from here we do not have to look back. In the coming few years, together we have to make up for that development, which we could not do in the past decades.
