People will no longer need to go to the police station to get their complaints reported to the police. Now people will be able to register complaints online by sitting at home. For this Punjab Police is also going to launch an app. Through this it will become easier to register FIR online. In the next few days, this portal will be activated on all the police district headquarters and the website of the police in the state. In this regard, MF Farooqui, IPS, ADGP Public Grievance Division (Public Grievances Department), Punjab had issued necessary guidelines while informing the concerned officers.
This online service will be available on the official website of Punjab Police www.punjabpolice.gov.in and citizen portal of pgd.punjabpolice.gov.in. Through this, after registering the complaint online, its status can also be checked there. While making an online police complaint, people will have to write and sign the complaint on a plain paper and submit its photo along with the complaint. Complaint submission notification will be sent to your mobile phone and email within 24 hours of submission of complaint. Along with this, a unique number will also come to the complainant, through which he can also track the action being taken on his complaint. Usually, within 48 hours of submitting this complaint, an online FIR is registered and its complaint number is sent to the complainant’s phone.
