What’s going viral Actress Kangana Ranaut was honored with the Padma Shri award on November 8. A few days later, Kangana made a controversial statement about the country’s independence at the annual convention of a media network. Kangana had called the independence she got in 1947 as begging.

Now a tweet by President Ram Nath Kovind is going viral on social media. The tweet read, “The remark made by Kangana Ranaut is hurting the sentiments of the nation, I myself feel ashamed to have given her the Padma award. My government requests Shri Narendra Modi to allow me to withdraw the award.

  • To know the truth of the viral tweet, we checked the official Twitter account of President Ram Nath Kovind. We could not find any such tweet on the President’s account, which is being claimed on social media.
  • On seeing the viral tweet and the President’s official Twitter account, it is known that the tweet going viral has been done from a fake account.   • In the viral tweet, the wrong spelling of President is written as PRASIDENT and in the official account the correct spelling of President is written as PRESIDENT. At the same time, the username @rashtrptibhvn is written in the viral tweet and the username @rashtrapatibhvn is written in the official account.
  • In the next phase of investigation, we searched on Twitter for the username appearing in the viral tweet. The account from which the viral tweet was made has been suspended.
  • It is clear that the tweet going viral on social media is fake. This tweet was not done by President Ram Nath Kovind but by a fake account created in his name.
