Taking cognizance of the shortage and black marketing of DAP fertilizers, on the orders of Sub-Divisional Officer Manisha Sharma, hundreds of farmers reached a fertilizer seed shop located in Anaj Mandi on Tuesday to get fertilizer before the shop opened. The shopkeeper had a stock of only 200 kattas. In such a situation, giving fertilizers to about one thousand farmers was challenging for the administration throughout the day. City police outpost in-charge Amit Kumar stood by the police personnel to maintain peace on the spot. With a lot of effort, some farmers got fertilizer distributed.
In view of the black marketing and shortage of DAP fertilizers happening in Punhana, the Sub-Divisional Officer on Monday held a meeting with Agriculture Officers and Naib Tehsildar, Chairman and Patwaris of Market Committee and decided to give 2 bags of DAP fertilizer by Posi machine. After the order, before the sunrise in the morning, hundreds of farmers reached outside the shop with Aadhaar cards. As soon as the shop opened, people started cutting their slips by pushing each other. The police also had to use mild force to maintain peace. The farmers standing in the queue alleged that even after standing in line at six in the morning, they felt disheartened. The farmers returning without manure said that they had never seen such a shortage of manure before. Private shopkeepers of fertilizer seeds of the area are taking their stock of fertilizers to Rajasthan and selling them through black market. Farmers say that if the administration examines the records of the dealers of fertilizer seeds impartially, then a big scam can come to the fore.
