New Delhi, Online Desk. The bat of two senior players of the Indian cricket team, Captain Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli, has been silent for a long time. Both of them are struggling to score runs. Even during the warm match in England on Thursday, both the batsmen failed to score runs. Former Indian captain Kapil Dev said that no matter how big a player you are, the question will be asked constantly failing.

Senior players of the Indian team were rested in the T20 series played at home against South Africa. To this Kapil said, ‘Today it is very difficult to know who was given rest and who had sought rest. Only the selector will know about it.

“Rohit Sharma is an amazing player, there is never any question about it, but if you do not get a half-century with your bat even after 14 matches, then the question is bound to arise. Whether you are Gary Sobers, Don Bradman, Virat Kohli, Be it Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar or Viv Richards. Only Rohit can answer this question as to what happened.”

Rohit and Virat had failed to score runs even in the recently concluded season of the Indian Premier League. Both the batsmen had to struggle to score runs for their respective franchise team. Rohit’s team was knocked out in the first round and in 14 matches, he could only manage 268 runs, which did not include a single half-century. Virat scored 341 runs after playing 16 matches, he had two fifties in his account.

Kapil further said, ‘Is cricket too much and now they are not enjoying it. Players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should enjoy this game. How he thinks about this game is the most important thing.”
