French luxury design company Hermes has announced an extraordinary bonus of 4,000 euros (Rs 3,52,024) to each of its employees at the end of the month. Presenting the group’s annual results, Hermes Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Axel Dumas said that the 12,400 Hermes employees in France receive a salary equal to 17 months’ salary annually, which includes profit sharing and incentive bonuses.
He also said that this bonus payment is part of the “value sharing” policy and coincides with an increase in the dividend paid to shareholders. The news report further states that this ‘award’ can be considered as the culmination of extraordinary profits made by the company in the year 2022. Last year, this brand, famous for hand-stitched handbags, sold 11.6 billion euros, which is 21% more than in the year 2021.
