The decision to ban Ganga Ghats was taken after a meeting and excursion at Vindhyachal Dham on Wednesday. The four Ghats of Dham, Pakka Ghat, Akhara Ghat, Diwan Ghat and Shri Shivdurga Ghat will remain open. On which visitors can take bath. Apart from this, there will be a ban on the Ghats. District Magistrate Divya Mittal and SP Santosh Kumar Mishra held a meeting in the administrative building. Point-wise information was obtained about the progress of the works of various departments.

Ganga Ghat became Dangerous, ban on lives was imposed

The District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police conducted on-site inspection of the works being done on the roads leading to the temple including Ganga Ghats. In view of the rising water level in the river Ganga during the inspection of the Ghats and for the convenience and safety of the passengers, the Pucca Ghat, Akhara Ghat, Diwan Ghat and Shri Shivdurga Ghat will remain open for bathing in the Ganges. On which permission has been given to bathe. In view of the rising water level of river Ganga, all the remaining small and big ghats have been completely banned.

Appealing to the visitors, District Magistrate Divya Mittal has said that in view of the rise in the water level, efforts should be made that children and old people should not be thrown into the river on the Ganges Ghats. People should take bath only inside the barricating installed in the Ganges river at the ghat.

There should be proper lighting on the mountain

Proper lighting arrangement on Ashtabhuja hill should be completed by 23rd September evening and other works by 22nd September evening. He said that negligence will not be tolerated at any level. Adequate lighting on the ghats will be provided along with high mask arrangement. Passenger assistance centers should be set up at roadways and railway stations. Instructions were given for continuous power supply, proper arrangement of lighting and drinking water.

Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Shiv Pratap Shukla, Additional Superintendent of Police Shrikant Prajapati, Municipal Magistrate Vinay Kumar Singh, Chief Medical Officer etc. were present in the meeting.
