Royal Challengers Bangalore lost by 4 wickets in the Eliminator match against Kolkata Knight Riders. With this defeat, Bengaluru’s dream of winning the IPL trophy once again remained unfulfilled. After RCB’s loss, Australian all-rounder Daniel Christian and his pregnant partner Georgia Dunn were subjected to online abuse. Actually, on social media, the fans made fun of and trolled both of them.
Glenn Maxwell took a jibe at the fans who used abusive words against Dan Christian and his partner and also reprimanded him for this behavior of the fans. Maxwell wrote in his Instagram story – This season has been good for RCB. We could not reach where we had to reach, but that does not mean that this IPL was not good for us, but still people on social media are talking useless about the team, which is shameful. Those people should also understand that we are also human beings, who are giving our best every day. In such a situation, I would just like to say to them that instead of using abusive language, be a better person.
He further wrote – Thank you to the real fans of RCB for their love and support. Unfortunately, there are some people who want to make social media a scary place too. this is unacceptable. Please don’t be like them.
The abuser will be blocked
In another tweet after this, Maxwell said – If you abuse any of my fellow players or friends on social media, then everyone will block you. So what does it mean to be a terrible person? There is no place for forgiveness for such people.
Christian did poorly in the match
Daniel Christian’s performance against KKR in the Eliminator match was very disappointing. With the bat, he scored only 9 runs in 8 balls, while with the ball, he spent 29 runs in 1.4 overs. After the match, keeping this performance in mind, the fans not only abused Christian but also against his partner on social media.
Christian wrote on Instagram- Look at the comments made on my partner’s Instagram post. Today was not a good match for me but it is part of the game. Please keep him out of all this.
