New Delhi, Auto Desk. The new generation Suzuki SX4 S-Cross (2022 Suzuki S-Cross) has finally been revealed for the European market. The crossover SUV has been priced at £24,999 for the entry-level Motion variant and £29,799 for the top-end Ultra trim. Suzuki’s plant in Esztergom in Hungary will serve as the production center for the new S-Cross. Along with the generation change, the S-Cross gets major design changes and feature upgrades. However, no changes have been made to its engine.

Features

While the Motion trim comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, the Ultra model gets a 9.0-inch unit with satellite navigation. Features like dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, keyless entry and LED headlamps are standard across the model lineup. The Ultra trim is exclusively offered with a panoramic sunroof, leather seat upholstery and a 360-degree parking camera.

design change

The new-gen model of the crossover comes with a completely updated front fascia. It is expected to feature a piano-black grille with new bumpers, tweaked triple-beam headlamps and a redesigned fog lamp assembly. The bonnet looks clearer than before. It also gets larger central air intakes and skid plates. The side profile is adorned with black body cladding, machined 17-inch alloy wheels with squarish wheel arches, chromed window lines and body-coloured door handles. The rear now gets a slightly redesigned bumper and redesigned LED taillamps, which are connected via a thick chrome bar. It also gets a high mounted stop lamp, integrated rear spoiler and upright boot lid.

The new 2022 Suzuki S-Cross comes with multiple driver support systems such as front and rear parking sensors, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control and blindspot monitoring. The new model comes in 6 color options namely Silky Silver, Metallic Titan Dark Grey, Sphere Blue, Solid White, Energetic Red and Cosmic Black.

engine and power

As mentioned above, the new S-Cross comes with a 48V mild hybrid system, mated to a 1.4L turbo petrol engine that continues to receive power. Its motor is capable of producing top power of 127bhp. It can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 9.5 seconds and delivers a maximum speed of 121mph. With the 4WD system on, the crossover accelerates from 0 to 62mph in 10.2 seconds.
