Customs team has exposed gold smuggling at Jaipur airport on Thursday. Gold worth 18 lakhs has been found from the electric equipment of the passenger who came on the flight from Muscat, the capital of Oman. Assistant commissioner Bharat Bhushan said that when the documents of the passenger who had come on a Salaam Airways flight were checked, it came to light that he had gone to Dubai three months ago. Now back to India.
When interrogated the traveler, he told that he works as a waiter in a hotel in Dubai and has come back to India for some work. On suspicion, when the luggage was scanned with X-ray, a box was found in the trolley bag. The meat grinder was hidden in it. Out of this, the customs department extracted about 346 grams of gold.

When this meat grinder was cut from the machine and each device was opened, one place got a gold bar in the shape of a cylinder. The weight of this gold bar turned out to be 346.30 grams. Officials said that its market value is close to Rs 18 lakh 6 thousand.
Gold worth 1.22 crores was caught 25 days ago
The customs team had caught gold smuggling about 25 days ago as well. The team then found a suspicious metal object in a passenger’s bag from a Sharjah flight. When the bag was opened, the press (iron) was kept in it. Officials said that when the press was opened, 2 kg 333 grams of gold came out under the pressure plate. Its price came out to be Rs 1 crore 22 lakh 41 thousand 950.
