HC will hear till stay order is not received: Next hearing in Shell Company, MNREGA and Mining Lease case will be held on June 30, Soren’s lawyer did not file Vakalatnama

The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday said that the hearing of public interest litigations filed in Shell Company, MNREGA and Mining Lease cases will continue till a stay order comes from the Supreme Court in this regard. The matter was heard in a division bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad. The court has fixed June 30 as the next date of hearing in the matter.

Kapil Sibal appeared on behalf of the state government in this matter. At the same time, during the hearing, it came to light that till now advocate Amritansh Vats, appearing for CM, has not submitted Vakalatnama. On this, the court also directed him to submit the relevant Vakalatnama between today and tomorrow.

At the same time, in relation to the SLP filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of Soren, the court clearly said that the Supreme Court had directed the High Court to hear the petition on the merits of the petition. After that the petition related to Soren has been heard in the Jharkhand High Court. The court said that the hearing will continue till a stay order is passed in this matter, the Supreme Court had directed the High Court to hear the petition on the merits. After that the petition related to Hemant Soren was heard in the Jharkhand High Court.

In fact, more time was sought from Soren’s side by filing an IA in this case. In his application, it was said on behalf of Soren that the SLP has been filed in the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court, so the hearing should be adjourned for three weeks for the time being till its order comes.

Earlier on June 3, the court fixed the date for detailed hearing of that petition, considering it maintainable. During the last hearing, the government had requested to postpone the hearing by pleading that his lawyer Kapil Sibal was infected with Corona. After which the court fixed the date of hearing as June 23.
