Atiq Ahmed has demanded that he should not be transferred from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad Jail to Uttar Pradesh, citing the danger of his life.

A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on the petition filed regarding the security of former MP Atiq Ahmed. On the demand made by Atiq Ahmed, the Supreme Court postponed the hearing for a week. A bench of Justice Ajay Rastogi and Justice Bela M Trivedi heard the matter. Describing the threat to his life, Atik Ahmed has demanded that he should not be transferred from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad Jail to Uttar Pradesh.

In the Supreme Court, Atiq Ahmed’s lawyer said that we have filed additional documents, please look into them. The lawyer demanded to postpone the hearing. On this, the Supreme Court postponed the hearing for a week. Atiq’s lawyer said that some additional documents have to be filed.

Zainab Fatima, younger brother of Bahubali former MP Atiq Ahmed and wife of former MLA Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, made serious allegations against the UP Police and STF two days back. Zainab had said that UP Police and STF can do any incident on the pretext of jail transfer with my husband Ashraf who is lodged in Bareilly Jail. She had said that my husband is being implicated in the Umesh Pal shootout case under a conspiracy. During the conversation, Zainab Fatima, wife of Ashraf, the accused named in the Umesh Pal shootout case, also defended her brother Saddam and nephew Ahad.

Zainab had said, “My mother’s health has been bad for several months. Saddam had admitted her mother to the hospital for a long time and was taking care of her only. Saddam had been visiting Bareilly for the last 4-5 months to meet Ashraf. Has not gone. Zainab Fatima had alleged that her brother definitely lived in Bareilly and used to take care of Ashraf but he has nothing to do with the Umesh Pal murder case.”
