Sharjah. A funny scene was seen in the Qualifier-2 match between Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021. Delhi batsman Shimron Hetmyer, who had reached the dugout during the match, was called back by the umpire. Hetmyer was out on the score of 3 runs, but he returned at the call of the umpire and hit 2 big sixes. Due to this, his team could reach the score of 135 runs.
Hetmyer out on no ball was called back by the umpire
Shimron Hetmyer played a big shot on Varun Chakraborty on the fourth ball of the 17th over of Delhi’s innings. Shubman Gill dived at long on and caught his brilliant catch. After this, Hetmyer picked up the bat and went into the dugout. But the third umpire after watching the replays declared the ball a no ball.
In the replays, it was seen that Varun Chakraborty’s leg was slightly ahead of the crease. After this, the umpire standing there, Anil Chaudhary, sent him back. Hetmyer, playing on just 3 runs, came back smiling and hit 2 long sixes in the very next over. He was run out after scoring 17 runs in 10 balls.
Kolkata beat Delhi by 3 wickets in a thrilling match
Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 3 wickets in the second qualifier match to enter the final. In the match, KKR won the toss and called Delhi to bat first but the team could only make a score of 135/5. Kolkata achieved the target of 136 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the game of 19.5 overs. With the defeat, the dream of Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals making it to the finals for the second time in a row turned out to be just a dream while KKR managed to enter the final for the third time.
