The Himanta Biswa-led government of Assam completes one year today. On completion of one year Himanta Biswa government has released a report card on its achievements. In which the work done by the government has been told.

The report card of the government first mentioned about the reduction in crime and police action in Assam. In which it is mentioned that the number of pending cases in the state of Assam which was 1,09,081 at the end of May, 2021 has now come down to 83,947 at the end of April, 2022.

At the same time, the average crime rate per lakh population during the last year was 384, which has now come down to 222 this year. Further, the average monthly registration of cases during the last year was more than 11,103 which has now come down to 6,247 this year.

After the present government came to power, the Assam Police has registered 2,834 cases under the NDPS Act, arrested over 4838 drug smugglers and arrested 94 kg heroin, 22348 kg ganja, 187 kg opium, 38 lakh yaba and others. The bullets have been confiscated. Lakhs of cough syrup bottles, 214 kg of cannabis, 0.31 kg of cocaine, Rs 2.4 crore in cash and 320 vehicles have been seized. 648 bighas of opium cultivation and 32 bighas of cannabis cultivation have been destroyed. In all, banned drugs worth more than Rs 548.53 crore have been seized.

Since the present government took over, the Assam Police has registered 141 cases of human trafficking, arrested over 104 human traffickers and rescued around 250 people.

In the last one year, the Assam Police has registered over 1100 cases of cattle smuggling, arrested 992 smugglers, rescued more than 9454 cattle and seized 417 vehicles.

Apart from this, the government has said that it has put a complete ban on cow smuggling in the state. For this, the Assam Legislative Assembly has passed a bill banning cow transport. Massive action has been taken against drug mafia. A huge quantity of narcotics has been recovered.

At the same time, the direct financial assistance to 19 lakh women through Arunodaya Yojana has been increased from 1000 per month to 1250 per month.

The Assam government has also tried to resolve the border dispute with the neighboring state. In which it is in advance stage with Meghalaya and talks are going on with Arunachal and Nagaland.
