A home guard working at Israna police station in Haryana’s Panipat district took Rs 1100 from two people in the name of passport verification, which came to light when higher police officers got some inputs in this regard. After this the victims were contacted and they confirmed that the home guard had taken money.

He has dismissed the Home Guard from his job with immediate effect. Apart from this, the woman investigating officer ASI of the police station engaged in the duty of passport verification has been suspended.
To supervise the work of the district police, various teams have been constituted by the higher authorities, who remain vigilant in the area at all times and keep an eye on the various activities. These teams have also been formed in the police station area. Under this, secret information was received that on September 16, passport verification of two people was done from Israna police station. After this the said team contacted those people.
These people are Sachin and Sumit, residents of village Pardhana. During the conversation with them, the team came to know that Sunil, a home guard of Israna police station, had come to them, who took a bribe of Rs 1100 in the name of passport verification. Apart from the home guard, no other policeman has come to him. He had also told that he had received a call from a lady ASI Rani.
ASI Rani was the investigating officer
In the said case, ASI Rani was authorized for passport verification. He himself did not go to the spot and sent the home guard. In this way he was grossly negligent in his duty. The matter came to the notice of SP. Following the orders of the SP, a case of corruption was registered against the Home Guard and the female ASI was suspended.
