New Delhi, PTI. The market valuation of three of the top five most valued companies in the country increased by Rs 1,78,650.71 crore last week, with Reliance Industries rising the most. Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and Hindustan Unilever are among the top-5 companies whose market valuation has increased. At the same time, the market valuation of Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys has declined. The benchmark BSE Sensex had gained 1,532.77 points or 2.90 per cent last week.

The market valuation of Reliance Industries has increased by Rs 1,31,320.8 crore to Rs 17,73,889.78 crore. At the same time, the market valuation of Hindustan Unilever has increased by Rs 30,814.89 crore, taking its valuation to Rs 5,46,397.45 crore while that of HDFC Bank has increased by Rs 16,515.02 crore to Rs 7,33,156.15 crore.

In contrast, the market capitalization (mcap) of Tata Consultancy Services declined by Rs 43,743.96 crore to Rs 12,05,254.93 crore. The valuation of Infosys has come down by Rs 20,129.66 crore to Rs 6,12,303.26 crore. Reliance Industries tops the ranking of top-5 firms. It is followed by Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, Infosys and Hindustan Unilever.

LIC made place in top-10 companies of the country

Meanwhile, LIC got listed on the stock exchanges on Tuesday. Its listing took place with a reduction of more than 8 percent from the IPO price. However, despite this, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) made it to the top-10 most valuable firms on its first trading day on Tuesday. LIC now ranks sixth in the list of top-10 companies by market capitalization. Its market valuation is Rs 5,22,602.94 crore.

At the same time, ICICI Bank is at the seventh position with a valuation of Rs 4,93,251.86 crore. It is followed by State Bank of India (Rs 4,12,763.28 crore), HDFC (Rs 3,99,512.68 crore) and Bharti Airtel (Rs 3,77,686.72 crore).
