New Delhi, Jagran Bureau. In view of the benefit of the students and their own, most of the universities in the country are now ready to give admission through the Combined University Entrance Test (CUET). There is also a huge trend among these universities regarding this. In the very first year, about fifty universities of the country are going to give admission through CUET. These include state and deemed universities as well as private universities. However, this number of universities is in addition to the central universities. At present, there are more than 45 central universities in the country, which are compulsorily admitted through CUET. Meanwhile, buoyed by the admission of nearly 100 universities through CUET in the first year itself, the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC) expect the number to increase further next year.
Decision taken in the interest of both students and universities
If sources are to be believed, the UGC has set a target of linking more than half the universities with CUET next year. Continuous talks are going on with the state governments and university administration. At present there are more than one thousand universities in the country. These include central universities, state universities, deemed universities and private universities. The special thing is that the decision to conduct CUET for admission in universities is a very important decision in the interest of both the students and the universities. With this, students will not have to apply for admission in different universities and give entrance examinations. Rather, through CUET, they will get admission in the course and university of their choice on the basis of merit. This will not put financial burden on the students, as well as save their time. On the other hand universities will have the advantage that they will not have to make extra effort for conducting the entrance examination. Also, there will be no financial burden on them. Along with this, talented children from all over the country will also visit the campus.
Students will get admission in hundred universities
At present, out of the hundred universities in which students will get admission through CUET this time, more than 45 are central universities, besides about 12 state universities, ten deemed universities and about 18 private universities. This time in the state universities, universities of states like Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir are included. It is worth noting that keeping in view the convenience of the students, the conduct of CUET was recommended in the new National Education Policy. After which it has been implemented.
