The third wave of corona in Bilaspur is continuously infecting children. The situation is that within 14 days more than 300 children have come under the grip of corona. It is a relief that most of the children suffering from coronavirus are isolated at home and there is no need to admit them in hospitals. Here, only preparations are being claimed in the government hospital for the last one month. When it comes to hospitalization, there are only 16 ventilator beds for children. In such a situation, if the situation becomes serious, patients may have to rely on private hospitals only.

The third wave of corona is going on and the number of infected patients is increasing continuously. The concern is because this time the new variant of Corona is also taking children in its grip. This time the infection is making most of the family members its victims. In such a situation, if one member of the house is getting corona positive, then his other members have also started getting infected. In such a situation, the third wave can be fatal for children. The health department as well as the children’s doctors are shocked and upset about this variant. This is the reason why children are being advised to get their corona tested when they are sick.

Inadequate preparation for serious situation
As early as January 2022, children are continuously falling prey to infection. So far the number of infected children has crossed 300. In the current situation, 25 to 30 children are getting corona positive every day. However, most of the children are being treated at home and have not been admitted to the hospital. Even though the health department officials are claiming to prepare hospitals and beds for the children. However, the treatment system is incomplete.

42 beds have been kept for children in CIMS (Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Science). In which there are only 16 ventilator beds and the rest are oxygen beds. Similarly, 42 beds have been prepared to keep children in the Divisional Kovid Hospital. In which there are only 10 ventilators. The rest are oxygen beds. In the coming days, if the graph of corona increases and the situation becomes worse for children to be admitted to the hospital, then the situation may get worse.

Arrangement of only 94 beds, private hospitals will be supported
The government facility will be insufficient because only 94 beds have been made for children including CIMS and District Hospital. Which is considered incomplete according to the initial infection rate of children. In the coming time, if the infection of children increases and the situation of hospitalization is created, then people may have to leave the government system and go to private hospital.

CMHO said – Government and private hospitals have been alerted
CMHO Dr. Pramod Mahajan says that an alert has been issued regarding the new variant of Corona. 153 beds have been arranged in 37 private hospitals in the district. 1667 beds have also been arranged in government hospitals. Wards have been made for children in all hospitals.

25% children are victims of infection, parents are not getting tested
Children’s doctor K W Deoras says that the increasing corona infection and the changing mood of the weather have increased the concern of the people. Every day a large number of children suffering from cold, cough and fever are reaching the hospital. The situation is that at present 25 percent of children are victims of corona infection. However, the parents of infected children are not taking interest to get tested. Symptoms of corona are being found in 25-30 children coming to the clinic. But, even after the advice, only 5 percent of the parents are getting the test done. He has advised to get more and more children with symptoms of corona tested.

Do not give medicine to children without doctor’s advice
Doctor Deoras says that nowadays most of the parents keep their children’s antibiotics and fever medicines at home and give these medicines to the children without consulting the doctor. This condition can be fatal for children. In the current situation, if the children are sick, take them to the hospital immediately and after conducting necessary tests, feed the children with medicines on the advice of the doctor.
