IND vs AUS, 1st ODI: Indian cricket team batsman KL Rahul, who has been going through bad form for a long time, finally returned to form and won Team India by scoring a half-century in the first ODI against Australia. In the match played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Australia had set a target of 189 runs in front of India. India won the match by 5 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
This innings of KL Rahul is special because at one point the Indian team was looking in trouble. The four leading batsmen of the team had returned to the pavilion on a score of just 42. These include the names of Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill. In a difficult situation, Rahul took responsibility on himself and stayed at the crease till the end. Rahul played an unbeaten inning of 75 runs.
Rahul and Jadeja shine in Team India’s victory
Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, playing limited overs cricket after a long time with KL Rahul, also performed amazingly. Jadeja played a valuable inning of 45 off 69 balls. Together, both shared a 108-run partnership for the sixth wicket to take Team India to the target. Apart from Rahul and Jadeja, the rest of the batsmen did not do much. Ishaan Kishan, who became part of the playing XI in place of Rohit Sharma, was dismissed after scoring only 3 runs. It was expected that Kohli would play a huge innings today but he got caught on the ball of Mitchell Starc and returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 runs.
Kangaroo batsmen failed in front of Shami-Siraj
Earlier at the Wankhede Stadium, the Indian fast bowlers trounced the Australian batsmen. Experienced bowler Mohammad Shami and rising star Mohammad Siraj bowled brilliantly and both took 3-3 wickets. For Australia, opener Mitchell Marsh played an excellent inning of 81 runs. Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Marsh and after that the Australian innings fell apart.
