IND vs NZ Test: The first match of the two-match Test series will be played between India and New Zealand from Thursday, November 25. Before this match to be held in Kanpur, Team India captain Ajinkya Rahane answered the questions asked about the playing XI and his batting form in the press conference. Let us inform that in the first Test, Ajinkya Rahane has been given the responsibility of leading the team in the absence of the regular captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli.

Recently, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who was reviewing the India vs New Zealand Test series on Star Sports channel, questioned Ajinkya Rahane’s place in the Test team. Gambhir had said that Rahane is very lucky that he is still being given a chance in the Test team.

Ajinkya Rahane replied to Gautam Gambhir

Ajinkya Rahane, who captained Team India in the Kanpur Test, reacted to Gautam Gambhir’s statement, saying that his focus is on getting the team to victory. He said that even if I get out after scoring 30 or 40, but if my team is successful in winning the match, then I do not need to worry about my form. The 33-year-old said that it is an honor for him to lead the country and he is focusing on giving his best without worrying too much about the future.

In the press conference, Ajinkya Rahane said, “I am not worried about my form. My job is to think how can I contribute to the team and that doesn’t mean you need to score 100 runs in every match. 30-40 runs or 50-60 runs are very important in a crucial moment. I always think about the team.

When asked about maintaining a balance between captaincy and batting, Ajinkya Rahane said that he keeps both the skills separate according to the situation of the game. Before the first match, the captain made it clear that Shreyas Iyer would make his debut in the Kanpur Test.
