Team India’s eyes on 400 figures
In the second day’s play, Rahane and Co will be eyeing at least 400 runs in the first innings. The way Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja played their game in the final session of the first day was excellent and even today the pair would like to show a strong game in the first session of the day. If the Indian team is able to score 400 runs, then in a way, they will achieve a psychological victory in the match. Let us tell you that whenever India has scored 250 or more runs while batting first in the home Test since 2013, it has not suffered defeat.

NZ required to return
The New Zealand bowlers impressed in the first two sessions of the first day. However, after the partnership of Iyer and Jadeja, Kyle Jamieson, who took three wickets and Tim Southee, who took one wicket, also seemed to stray from the rhythm. Also, the lack of experience can be clearly seen in the three spinners of the team, Ejaz Patel, Rachin Ravindra and William Somerville. If the Kiwi team has to stay in the match, then from the very first session there will be pressure on the Indian team.

Iyer eyes hundreds
Shreyas Iyer, making his Test debut, has played an amazing innings so far. Iyer is currently unbeaten on 75 off 136 balls. On the second day, his eyes will be on making his debut more memorable. If Iyer scores a century today, he will become the 16th player in India and the 112th in the world to score a century in the first Test.
