Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed the Indian men’s badminton team’s maiden Thomas Cup title win, saying they have created history and invited the players to visit him at his residence on their return from Bangkok.
The Prime Minister never forgets to appreciate the achievements of the sportspersons and on Sunday also he congratulated the sportspersons over phone. He also thanked the parents of the players and said that their victory will inspire many budding players.

The Indian men’s badminton team on Sunday etched its name in the pages of history by lifting the Thomas Cup title for the first time, defeating 14-time champions Indonesia 3-0 in a one-sided final in Bangkok.
World championship medalists Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth besides world number eight pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty registered memorable victories for the team.
First Srikkanth and then Lakshya Sen, HS Prannoy and Chirag Shetty spoke to the Prime Minister.
