Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Thursday questioned the propriety of Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying the foundation stone of the Noida International Airport at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh. He said that if the government instead of spending about Rs 30,000 crore on this new airport project, waives the loans of farmers with such a huge amount, then the country will benefit more. Kamal Nath told reporters at Indore’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar airport, “Look, there may be a need for an airport (being built in Jewar). But Rs 30,000 crore will be spent on the construction of this airport. If the loans of our farmers are waived with this amount, then economic activities will increase and the country will benefit more.
