International flights will start soon: Aviation Ministry Secretary said – International flight operations can be normal by the end of December

Aviation ministry secretary Rajiv Bansal said on Wednesday that long-suffering international flight operations may return to normal by the end of the year. Scheduled international passenger flights were suspended in March last year due to the Corona epidemic.

However, with the easing of restrictions and increased coverage of corona vaccination, India has started flights under air bubble arrangement with some countries. At present, India has air bubble arrangements with 31 countries including the US, UK, UAE.

Scindia said – no decision has been taken yet
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, ‘I am working with other central ministries like home and health on the issue of resuming scheduled international flights. No decision has been taken yet due to the resurgence of Kovid cases in some countries. Hopefully the inter-ministerial discussion will reach a decision soon.

Domestic flight allowed to fly at full capacity
Like international flights, domestic flights were also banned during the lockdown. However, after a break of two months, domestic flight operations with limited capacity were started in May 2020. Domestic flights have been allowed to fly at full capacity only last month.

4 lakh passengers used to travel daily
Before the arrival of Corona, 4 lakh passengers used to travel on the domestic route in a day. When the flight started on 25 May 2020, 30 thousand passengers were traveling daily. Currently, international flights are suspended till November 30.

Flight ban worsens financial health of companies
The long suspension on scheduled international flights has affected the financial health of most airlines. Vistara had said that all predictions of the revival of the aviation sector have turned out to be wrong. It is too early to say that the aviation industry is completely out of trouble.
