New Delhi, Online Desk. Delhi Capitals team made it to the playoffs in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League by showing a great game. The team, which were at the top of the points table, lost to Chennai Super Kings in the first qualifier and were knocked out of the tournament by Kolkata Knight Riders in the second qualifier.

Captain Rishabh Pant looked emotional after the end of the match. Responding to the question, he said, “What should I say I have no words to say anything. At this point of time, I can’t say anything. We just had a lot of faith in ourselves and took as long as possible.” There were constant efforts to stay in this match. The bowlers made this very close and brought us very close but unfortunately the match did not go in our favor. The Kolkata bowlers did a great job in the middle overs. We bowled. We got stuck right away and couldn’t rotate the strike at all.”

Kolkata team scored 123 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. From here, Delhi made a comeback in the match and taking six wickets one after the other, took the match to the last over. Kolkata needed seven runs off the last six balls. Ashwin gave only 1 run in the first four balls and also took a wicket. When 6 runs were needed off 2 balls, Rahul Tripathi ended the match with a six. With this, the hope of Delhi’s final also ended.

“Always positive thinking to the team of Delhi Capitals and hope that our team will come back strongly in the next season. We played very good cricket, yes it is true that ups and downs keep coming but we are very close to each other. They are always there. They take care of each other and hopefully when they come back next season, it will be even better.”
