New Delhi, Online Desk. Kolkata’s team has suffered another setback after Brendon McCullum, in fact, the team’s fast bowler Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the IPL due to injury. It is being told that he has suffered a minor hip injury due to which he has been ruled out of IPL 2022. Cricket Australia confirmed this through its Twitter post.

This means that the difficulty for the rest of the matches has increased even more for the team. Cummins may not have got much opportunities this season due to management’s decision but he had already led the team to victory with his batting in the first match. He played an explosive innings in the match against Mumbai, scoring 56 runs in 15 balls to win. However, he did not get much success this season in bowling. He played 5 matches for KKR and took 7 wickets while bowling at an economy of 10.68. He took 3 wickets for 22 runs in the match against Mumbai.

Kolkata still has two matches to play. The team’s next match is against Hyderabad on 14 May while the last league match on 18 May is against Lucknow Supergiants. At present, the team is at number 7 with 10 points after registering 5 wins in 12 matches. The playoff journey for the team is almost over as even if the team wins the remaining two matches, it will only have 14 points.

It is being speculated about his return that he will be available on the Sri Lanka tour. Australia have to tour Sri Lanka in June where they have to play 3 T20 matches, 5 ODIs and 2 Test matches. This tour will take place from June 7 to July 12.
