New Delhi, Online Desk. The Punjab team under the leadership of Mayank Agarwal showed what it desperately needed in the match against RCB. First scored a score of more than 200 in front of RCB’s bowling, then in front of RCB’s team adorned with star batsmen, defending this score beautifully and made 54 runs in their favor. Jani Bairstow and Livingston did wonders in batting for Punjab, while Kagiso Ravada, Rishi Dhawan and Rahul Chahar did wonders in bowling. Ravada took 3 wickets while Dhawan and Chahar took 2 wickets each.

Wings to the hopes of reaching the playoffs

Punjab’s win not only took them to number six in the points table by giving them 2 points but also gave a feather to the team’s hopes of reaching the playoffs. Now the team has 12 points with 6 wins from 12 matches. Now the team has to face against Delhi on 16 May at DY Patil Stadium and on 22 May against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede.

Punjab became a threat to these teams

After this victory of Punjab, the teams which have found it difficult to reach the playoffs are Rajasthan, Hyderabad, Delhi and Bangalore. All these teams need to win in their remaining matches, so this match can be called in the knock-out round. Punjab’s win has dealt the biggest blow to RCB and will have to rely on the other team’s result as well as winning their last match. One from here and there for any team could close the way forward in its league. At present, only Gujarat team has qualified while Lucknow team is just one win away from going to the play-offs.
