Ankit Sharma, Jalandhar
In 22 years, Jalandhar ran very fast on the path of development. It also had an impact on the field of education. Dainik Jagran also continued to move along with it. Made people aware about education and the result was that during this period hundreds of schools, many colleges and two universities were opened here. The standard of education has become very high.
Earlier there was not a single university in Jalandhar. The youth here used to have to study from recognized colleges belonging to universities of other districts, but now we have two universities each, one of which is LPU, which is not only in India but also in foreign countries. LPU has stood not only in the national but also in the world rankings. Kavita Faman, a student of LPU, got an annual package of one crore rupees for studying agriculture for the first time in the country. The other is DAV University. DAV College has already earned the name and trust in Jalandhar for its services in the field of better and higher education. On the other hand, Kanya Mahavidyalaya and Hansraj Mahila Mahavidyalaya are playing an important role in providing higher education to girls. On the other hand, Lyallpur Khalsa College is making a significant contribution to the higher education of the students of Doaba after suffering the brunt of partition.
Now 400 schools have become smart
In the earlier era, there were neither benches and tables for children to sit in government schools nor smart buildings. During the rainy season, the condition of government schools used to go from bad to worse, but now the situation has changed. Now 400 government schools in the district have been converted into smart schools. Every facility is available in these smart schools. That’s why they are giving competition to private schools. These have been equipped with smart classrooms, hi-tech laboratories, RO system and solar system.
