Lord Shiva Puja: Monday is the holiest day of worship of Lord Shiva. Many such things are offered in the worship of Shiva, which are not offered to any other deity, such as Aak, Bilvapatra, Bhang etc. Similarly, while worshiping Lord Shiva on Monday, it is very important to take care of some things.

It is believed that to please Lord Shiva, one should wake up on Monday morning and worship Bholenath after taking a bath. On this day, along with Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati should be offered Gangajal. On this day, especially flowers of sandalwood, akshat, bilva leaves, dhatura and figures should be offered to Shiva. Monday is the holiest day of Shiva Puja. During this a huge gathering of devotees can be seen in Shiva temples. Many such things are offered in Shiva Puja, which are not offered to any other deity, such as Aak, Bilvapatra, Bhang etc. Similarly, while worshiping Lord Shiva on Monday, it is very important to take care of some things.

These things are dear to Bholenath

The day of Monday is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In such a situation, it is said that if Lord Shiva is worshiped with a true heart on Monday, then one gets freedom from all the pains and all the wishes are fulfilled. On this day, Ganga water should be offered to Goddess Parvati and Nandi along with Lord Shankar. Also, especially on this day, flowers of sandalwood, akshat, bilva patra, dhatura or figures should be offered to Shiva. All these things are dear to Lord Shiva. On offering them, Bholenath is happy and showers his grace. On Monday, Lord Shiva should be offered Prasad made of ghee, sugar and wheat flour.

Take care of these things while worshiping

turmeric: According to the scriptures, Shivling is a symbol of masculinity, that is why turmeric should not be offered to Mahadev.

flower: Apart from Kaner and lotus, red colored flowers should not be offered to Lord Bholenath. It is forbidden to offer Ketki and Kevada flowers to Bholenath.

Kumkum and Roli: According to the scriptures, Lord Shiva Shankar should not apply Kumkum and Roli. It is forbidden in worship of Mahadev

Shell: It is to be known that conch shell is very dear to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, but Mahadev had killed a demon named Shankhachur, hence conch shell is considered taboo in the worship of Lord Bholenath.

coconut water: Keep in mind that do not anoint Lord Shiva with coconut water, because coconut is considered to be the form of Goddess Lakshmi. This is the reason why coconut is accepted as prasad in all auspicious works, but after being offered to Bholenath, coconut water is not acceptable.

sweet Basil: Do not even offer Tulsi leaves to Mahadev. In this context, there is the story of Asura Raj Jalandhar, whose wife Vrinda had become a Tulsi plant. Bholenath had killed Jalandhar, so Vrinda had told not to use Tulsi leaves in the worship of Lord Shiva.

Sesame: Don’t even offer sesame seeds on Shivling. Til is not dear to Bholenath.

Broken Rice: Do not sprinkle broken rice on Shivling. It is believed that broken rice should not be used in worship.

Chant this mantra at the time of worship

Mandarmalankalitalkayai kapalamalankitasekharaya.

Divyambarayi cha Digambaraya Namah Shivayi Cha Namah Shivay.

To complete the worship, offer ghee, sugar to Lord Shiva and after that do aarti with incense, lamp.
