New Delhi, Auto Desk. To make a strong hold in the auto segment, Maruti is going to set up a new manufacturing plant in Haryana. These plants will be built in two phases, in which the company is going to invest Rs 11,000 crore in the first phase. According to the information, this plant has the capacity to produce 2.50 lakh units annually. It is being said that with this plant, Maruti is working on increasing its market share.
Complete plant to be built in 800 acres
For the new plant, Maruti has allotted 800 acres of land at IMT Kharkhoda, Sonepat, Haryana, the process of which has been completed today. The company had also held discussions with the Haryana government for investment in the new manufacturing site. According to the information, the first plant will be ready by 2025 and the site will also have the space to set up more manufacturing plants in future.
will have more capacity than before
Presently, the company operates with its two plants at Gurgaon and Manesar in Haryana with a production capacity of over 20 lakh units per annum. At the same time, Suzuki Motor’s Gujarat plant can produce 5 lakh vehicles per year. With the commissioning of the new plant in Haryana, the company will be able to produce 2.5 lakh vehicles from this plant. Currently, Maruti manufactures small vehicles like WagonR, Swift, Alto, Eeco and Celerio and vehicles like Vitara Brezza, Ertiga and XL6 in the SUV segment.
Recently launched Maruti’s XL6
Maruti has launched the 2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6 in the updated version in the Indian market only last month. Equipped with modern features, this vehicle can be purchased at a starting price of 11 lakh 29 thousand ex-showroom. The car comes with the new Atkinson K15C dual-jet petrol engine, which is capable of producing 103bhp of maximum power and 136.8Nm of peak torque.
