The police has got a big success in the Ranjit Singh murder case in Bhilai. Police arrested Lokesh Pandey, expelled and absconding killer from district BJYM, from Visakhapatnam. 6 accused had already been arrested in this case. To reduce the fear of the accused among the people, the police had also taken out their procession on Tuesday. Now the police is looking for the last ie 8th accused Nikhil Angel alias Chiku. ,
Lokesh Pandey was hiding in a hotel in Visakhapatnam. Durg SP Dr Abhishek Pallav said that the accused told that the masterminds of this murder were Lokesh Pandey and Aman Bharti. After committing the murder, all ran in different directions. Due to committing the crime from Lokesh Pandey’s Fortuner car, the police recognized the accused within a few hours.
The police team will reach Bhilai by night with Lokesh Pandey. After keeping him in police remand overnight, he will be produced in the court on Wednesday. Police say that they will seek police remand of Lokesh from the court so that he can be interrogated further.
Murder was planned due to old enmity
During interrogation, the accused told the police that Ranjit Singh used to have enmity with them. When he told this to his associates, everyone conspired to murder by sitting in Lokesh Pandey’s shop. After this all reached Sai Nagar late on 19th June. There Ranjit Singh (20) was sitting near the Sai temple with his two friends Shubhadeep and Peter. The accused had killed Ranjit with baseball bats, kicks and knives.
Procession taken out of these accused
Police took out a procession of the arrested Camp-1 residents Sona alias Josh Abraham, Ganeshwar alias Aman Bharti alias Timpu, Biselal Bharti alias Chhotu, Bhupendra Sahu, Nikhil Sahu, Indira Nagar, Pintu alias Pritam Singh, resident of Supela, on Tuesday. As soon as they reached the cantonment area, people put soot on the faces of the accused. At the same time, the police held him by ear and made him sit-in. During this the accused kept saying that committing a crime is a sin, the police is our father.
