Meenakshi Lekhi’s visit to Panama, Honduras and Chile gave new impetus to relations: MEA

The recent visit of Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi to Panama, Honduras and Chile gave a new impetus to the bilateral relations of these countries with India. The Ministry of External Affairs said this in a statement on Sunday.

Lekhi traveled to the three countries between April 28 and May 5.

“The visit to Panama, Honduras and Chile gave a new impetus to India’s relations with these countries of Central and South America,” the Ministry of External Affairs said.

In the first leg of his visit, Lekhi visited Panama from 28 April to 1 May and met Foreign Minister Erika M. during this period.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that the two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, health and pharma, information technology, space and culture.

At the same time, Lekhi met President Iris Xiomara Castro Sarmiento during his visit to Honduras from May 1 to 3. Lekhi also met Antonio García, Acting Foreign Minister of Honduras.

The foreign ministry said Lekhi and Garcia discussed various bilateral, regional and international issues.

At the same time, during his visit to Chile, Lekhi met Foreign Minister Antonio Urezola and discussed the bilateral relations in detail.
