On Thursday, DC Pankaj Rai honored the promising students of Bilaspur district, who excelled in the 12th examination of Himachal Pradesh’s School Education Board. In the program organized at Bachat Bhawan, cap and mementoes were presented to the meritorious who made place in the merit list of the state. Under the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign, the girl students were given a reward of Rs 5000 each by the administration.
In the 12th examination of the Board of School Education, 14 meritorious children of the district have registered their names in the merit list of the state. Out of these, Vani Gautam of SVPM Girls Model Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin has secured the first position in Arts, while Akshita Sharma of Senior Secondary School, Barathi has secured first position in Science in the entire state. Out of these, Vani has also been the overall topper.
Apart from this, Jyoti Mishra of Dhanathar School, Srishti of Girls School Ghumarvin, Sushma of Gwalmuthani, Sahil Pathak of Namhol, Kavya Dhiman of Jhanduta, Shreya of Swami Vivekananda Memorial Senior Secondary School, Kandaur, Anubhav Dhiman of Minerva Senior Secondary School Ghumarvin, Tejaswini and Akshit The names of Tanvi and Kanchan Sharma of Barathi and Aarushi Mahajan of Crescent Public School, Bilaspur are also included in the merit list.
Congratulating all the children as well as their families and teachers, the DC said that they have brought laurels to the name of the district. He expressed confidence that he would definitely reach his goal in the coming time. On this occasion Deputy Director of Higher Education Rajkumar, Principal of Minerva School Parvesh Chandel, District Nutrition Coordinator Ruchika Thakur and parents of the children were also present.
