Social media giant Meta has taken action against over 22.9 million pieces of content by Indian users on Facebook and Instagram in November. The company gave this information in its monthly transparency report on Thursday. According to the data given in the report, the company has taken action against more than 19.5 million pieces of content on Facebook and 3.39 million pieces of content on Instagram.

The company said that action was taken against 1.49 crore spam content on Facebook. It then took action against 1.8 million content related to ‘adult nudity and sexual activity’ and 1.2 million content related to ‘violent and graphic content’. On Instagram, Meta has taken action on 10 lakh pieces of content related to suicide or self-harm, 7.27 lakh pieces of violent content, 7.12 lakh pieces of content related to ‘adult nudity and sexual activity’ etc.

The company received 2,368 complaints on Instagram under the Information Technology Rules, 2021, out of which maximum 939 complaints were about account hacking. It received 889 complaints on Facebook under this rule.
