Members of a mining mafia gang in Gwalior’s Antri district rescued a tractor seized from forest officials at gunpoint, but while they were taking it, the tractor overturned. After which the people associated with the mining mafia gang ran away. The police is currently searching for the absconding people. In the Santau forest near Toda village of Antri police station area, forest officials were informed that a tractor full of stones was being taken out of the forest area by the mining mafia.

As soon as the information was received, the forest officials along with the team reached the spot and started searching for the tractor driver. Later on the failure of the driver to provide the relevant documents, they seized the tractor on the basis of suspicion. Later, a dozen armed men reached the spot and took away the tractor. The forest officer continued to chase the tractor. However, after reaching the highway, the tractor overturned and the mafia gang along with the tractor driver fled from the spot.

After this incident, the Forest Department officials called the DFO and lodged a complaint at Antri police station. Speaking to ANI, DFO Brijendra Srivastava said, ‘After receiving information about illegal mining in the area, the team reached the spot and seized the tractor. However, some anti-social elements took away the tractor at gunpoint. Case has been registered. registered with the concerned police station,”

Gwalior Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amit Sanghi told ANI, “We have registered a complaint under IPC section 186 along with other sections and are probing the matter. We have directed the regional authorities to arrest the accused immediately.” Also informed.”
