Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the foundation day program of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). During this, he took a jibe at the opposition over the recent incidents. Talking about human rights, Modi said that there is another aspect related to this, which I want to discuss today. In recent years, some people have started interpreting human rights in their own way, looking at their own interests.

The Prime Minister said, “In the same type of incident, some people see human rights violations and in another similar incident, the same people do not see human rights violations. This type of mentality also causes great damage to human rights.

Human rights are grossly violated when they are viewed with a political color, viewed through a political lens, weighed with the scales of political profit and loss. Such selective behavior is equally harmful to democracy.

Emphasis on poor, disabled and Muslim women too
In his address, Modi also talked about the rights of the poor, disabled and Muslim women. He said that during this Corona period, India has given financial assistance to the poor, helpless and elderly people directly in their accounts. One Nation One Ration Card facility has also been started for migrant workers, so that wherever they go in the country, they do not have to wander for ration.

Referring to the Paralympics, the Prime Minister said that what is the power of our disabled brothers and sisters, we have experienced it again in the recent Paralympics. In the last years, laws have also been made to empower the differently-abled, they have been linked with new facilities.

Giving 26 weeks paid maternity leave to women
Modi said that today many sectors of work have been opened for women, it is being ensured that they can work 24 hours with security. Big countries of the world are not able to do this, but today India is giving 26 weeks paid maternity leave to career women.

New rights given to Muslim women
Talking about the law against triple talaq, the Prime Minister said that over the years, the country has tried to remove the injustices happening at different levels in different sections. For decades Muslim women had been demanding a law against triple talaq. We have given new rights to Muslim women by enacting a law against triple talaq.
