The building in Delhi’s Mundka area was probably waiting for such a big accident. After everything was destroyed in the fire (Mundka Fire), when the firefighters entered inside and the facts of the preliminary investigation are testimony to this. There was only one entry-way in the four-storey building, where CCTV cameras, routers and other such plastic items were being manufactured, so that the fire did not take long to spread. Unfortunately, at the time of the fire, most of the employees of the building were gathered at the same place on the second floor, when a motivational speech was going on there. This was the reason that not everyone got a chance to escape safely. Most of the dead bodies were found on this second floor.

Chief Fire Officer Atul Garg said that there was only one entry point for movement into the building. The building did not have a fire safety certificate nor was there any fire extinguisher inside it. There was also no proper blueprint of the building. The owners of the CCTV camera and router manufacturing unit Harish and Varun Goel have been arrested by the Delhi Police. However, Manish Lakra, the owner of the building, is still absconding. 29 people are still said to be missing.
