A young toy trader was shot dead on Wednesday night in Ramganga Vihar, a posh area of the city in Moradabad. The killer entered the shop and shot businessman Kushank Gupta (30 years old) by hitting him in the head. The businessman was rushed to the nearby Vivekananda Hospital, where he died.
SSP Bablu Kumar daily Told that in the primary investigation, an attacker is visible in the CCTV. The one who shot Kushank Gupta who was coming out after closing the shop and escaped. The incident which took place in the posh area near the stadium caused a stir. All the top officials including SSP reached the spot. The field unit and dog squad were also called to the spot. Till late night, the SSP himself was engaged in investigation at the spot.
SSP said – investigating from all aspects
SSP Bablu Kumar said that 3 teams of police have been deployed to uncover the incident. He said that in the preliminary investigation, it has been found that Kushank Gupta, a resident of Aranya Signature in the Civil Lines police station area, used to run a shop in the name of Siddhbali Sports near the stadium. About a month and a half ago, he had a dispute with his tenant shopkeeper.
A young man from Noorpur town in Bijnor district used to rent a shop in Kushank and run a restaurant in it. There was a dispute with him about getting Kushank’s shop vacated. Police is also probing the matter from this angle. Apart from this, with the help of CCTV footage and surveillance, the police is investigating the matter. The SSP said that an FIR is being registered on the basis of the complaint given by the family members.
FIR was also written against BJP leader
Even before this, Kushank also had a dispute with a BJP leader. In which he had lodged an FIR against the BJP leader for threatening to kill him. In this case, Kushank sat on a dharna outside the shop after the charge sheet was not filed against the BJP leader.
The posh area was shaken by the incident that happened suddenly
People are in panic due to such a public murder in the posh area of Civil Lines. Nearby shopkeepers were also shaken by this murder that happened in public. His father Ashok Gupta, wife Jyoti Gupta and mother Neeti rushed to the hospital as soon as Kushank received information about the bullet. But doctors declared Kushank brought dead. There was a cry in the family. Kushank was married to Jyoti, a resident of Mumbai, about a year and a half ago. People around say that Kushank was a cheerful person of very simple nature.
