New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has been found infected with the corona virus. However, he said he sticks to his plans to take a business trip to the US later this month and address Harvard University.

Ardern shared the report of his Kovid investigation on Instagram on Saturday. He said that he was disappointed that he could not attend the programs related to the announcement of various government schemes to be done next week. These include plans to cut greenhouse gas emissions from the government’s annual budget.

“I can’t be there in person, but I will keep in touch with the team and share my thoughts,” Ardern wrote.

Ardern, who has been fully vaccinated, has been living in isolation at her Wellington residence since last Sunday. He had decided to go into isolation after his fiancée Clark Gayford was confirmed to have a corona virus infection. Gayford’s infection was confirmed on Sunday.

Under the new health guidelines announced in New Zealand, if a family member becomes infected, it is mandatory for all people associated with him to remain in isolation for seven days.

Ardern said that the rapid antigen test conducted on Friday night showed signs of mild infection in him. However, after this, when he got tested again on Saturday morning, the level of infection came up.

Ardern also revealed that his three-year-old daughter, Nev, also tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday.

She wrote, “Despite all possible rescue efforts, I have been infected with the corona virus like other members of my family.”

Ardern did not provide any details about his symptoms in an Instagram post. However, his office said that the symptoms of infection started emerging in the prime minister from Friday itself.
