As the National Investigation Agency (NIA) continues its crackdown on the D-Gang in Mumbai, Republic Media Network has obtained details of associates of Pakistan-based gangster-terrorist Dawood Ibrahim whose hideouts were raided on Monday. As per the details received, 12 people have been raided by the central agency so far, some of whom have also been detained.
According to the accessed list those 12 people are- Munaf Mohammad Yusuf Sheikh, Suresh Shetty, Atif Sheikh / Tabassum Shaikh, Firoz Hamid Shama, Guddu Pathan, Mohd Salim Abdulla Qureshi aka Salim Frootwala (Chief aide of Chhota Shakeel), Aslam Patan , Ajay Gosalia (bookie-turned-builder), Sohail Khandwani (Mahim Dargah and Haji Ali trustee), Sameer Hingora (Bollywood producer, convicted in the Mumbai blasts) and Qayum Shaikh (1993 bomb blast accused acquitted).
The raids have been carried out on the establishments of the said people spread over various parts of Mumbai like Nagpada, Goregaon, Borivali, Santacruz, Mumbra, Bhendi Bazar, Bandra, Kurla and Mahim areas.
Notably, the NIA had registered an FIR against D-Company in February 2022 under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). According to the FIR lodged on 3 February, Dawood Ibrahim has been accused of running an international terrorist network- D-Company which is involved in several criminal activities. These include arms smuggling, narco-terrorism, underworld crime syndicate, money laundering, circulation of FICN and unauthorized possession of property to raise terror funds. Further, the NIA highlighted that the D-Company is working in active cooperation with terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Al-Qaeda.
It mentions that Ibrahim controlled his criminal activities in India through his close associates like Haji Anees, Chhota Shakeel, Javed Patel, Tiger Memon, Haseena Parkar and Iqbal Mirchi. Most importantly, the FIR alleges that the D-Company has created a special unit to spread terror among the people of India by attacking eminent personalities of India including political leaders, businessmen and others using lethal weapons. The central agency also revealed that Ibrahim and his associates are planning to incite and incite incidents that may lead to violence in different parts of India such as Delhi, Mumbai and other major cities.
