Northern Railway wrote a letter: Preparation to stop seven cloned trains including Surat-Chhapra, Ahmedabad-Darbhanga

Clone trains, which started from September of the year 2020, can be stopped soon. Because clone trains are hindering the regular trains’ operations and their punctuality. Similarly, the Northern Railway Zone has written a letter to the operational managers of all its divisions saying that the Railway Board wants that the path of regular trains should be clear, there should not be any obstruction in it.

The regular trains of Northern Railway have now been restored, due to which the operation of regular trains is being affected due to clone special trains. This is also affecting the punctuality of regular trains. Northern Railway has sent a proposal to cancel 7 cloned trains due to resumption of all regular trains.

Northern Railway has written a letter to the Senior Divisional Operational Managers of all its divisions asking them to cancel the cloned trains from the purview of Northern Railway. Information has also been sought from them in this regard. The clone trains that have been asked to cancel include Surat-Chhapra clone special. At present, a decision is yet to be taken on where these trains have gone to be canceled from the Northern Railway zone.

According to the letter of the Northern Railway, the Railway Board has agreed that now the regular trains should keep their path clear so that they can operate without any hindrance, in such a way that the running of clone trains is not obstructed, it has sought information from the zonal railways. At the same time, information has also been sought about what other trains may be available on the same route.

When information was sought from Northern Railway CPRO Deepak Kumar regarding this letter, he refused to say anything at the moment. Whereas Western Railway officials said that Surat-Chhapra clone is still running. Further, with reference to the letter of Northern Railway, the decision of the Railway Board on this will be followed. At present we are running this train.

Surat-Chhapra clone runs from Surat every Monday

Surat – Chhapra Superfast clone train Tapti Ganga leaves Surat every Monday at 8.30 am and reaches Chhapra at 2.30 pm the next day. Whereas in return it leaves Chhapra every Wednesday at 8.30 am and reaches Surat at 2.45 pm the next day on Thursday.

During journey this train stops at Surat to Bhusawal, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Varanasi, Shahganj. The primary maintenance of this clone train is being done in Surat itself. It has a total of 18 coaches. The train runs between Vyasnagar to Jaunpur in the zone of Northern Railway in 70 km ahead of Prayagraj.

Clean train runs faster than the original train

Surat Chhapra Clone Humsafar Special trains are totally different in every respect. Because all the third AC coaches of cloned train are of Humsafar category with CCTV cameras and announcement system of upcoming stations. While all the four sleeper coaches are equipped with LHB’s state-of-the-art air suspension brake system. Whereas the original Tapti Ganga trains have also become LHB enabled now. Apart from this, the average speed of Clone Special is 58 kmph while that of the original trains is 51 kmph. The speed of clone trains is higher than the original trains.
