Taking forward the campaign to connect the youth with direct employment after studies, the Central Government has extended the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme attached to the Ministry of Education for the next five years. Target to provide employment to seven lakh youth in five years
In the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, it was decided to continue this scheme related to the employment of youth. Along with this, an estimated amount of three thousand crores to be spent on this scheme from the year 2021-22 to 2025-26 has also been approved. Giving information about the decisions of the cabinet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that in the scheme, a target has been set to provide employment to seven lakh youth in the next five years.
A large number of students also get jobs
The special thing is that in this scheme, students above 16 years of age are given employment-related training in collaboration with companies related to mobile manufacturing, medical equipment manufacturing companies, pharma and automobiles etc. During this, a large number of students also get jobs on the basis of their better performance. Students are also given an honorarium (stipend) ranging from eight to nine thousand rupees. In this, a part is given by the center, the rest is given by the industries during the training.
Students have to apply online according to their interest
According to the Ministry of Education, this scheme was launched in the year 2016 to train students in engineering and technical fields. The government could not fulfill the target set under this. This is the reason that now it has been decided to expand the scope of this scheme. For this, students have to apply online according to their interest.
