New Delhi, Auto Desk. Ola Test Rides Update: Ola electric scooter has gained a lot of popularity in the Indian market since its launch. At the same time, the company recently started the test ride of this scooter in some cities. As of now, the company plans to extend the test rides of its electric two-wheelers to over 1,000 cities and towns. Ola Electric said in a statement that in the initial phase, test rides will be open only to those who have purchased or reserved the company’s Ola S1 and S1 pro scooters.

Test ride will start in 1000 cities

The firm, backed by SoftBank Group Corp and Tiger Global Management, aims to start test rides for all its customers by December. The plan to increase test rides comes as high fuel prices in the country are prompting customers to consider shifting from gasoline to electric vehicles. The company’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said that by December 15, the test ride of Ola scooter will be started in about 1000 cities.

The company launched its first electric scooter on 15 August. It received 100,000 orders within 24 hours of opening the pre-bookings. However, the delivery was targeted in October which has seen some delay, and due to this potential buyers are commenting on social media not being satisfied with Ola. Notably, Ola is manufacturing its scooters at the Ola Futurefactory, the world’s largest two-wheeler EV factory, about a two-hour drive from Bengaluru, and the factory is managed entirely by women.
