Imran Khan News: More than 10,000 Punjab Police personnel on Saturday entered the residence of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in Lahore after he left for Islamabad and arrested dozens of his PTI supporters. Imran left for Islamabad to appear before the court in a corruption case lodged against him.

Policemen uprooted barricades and tents at the entrance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief’s Zaman Park residence to prevent Imran’s arrest in the Toshakhana case and chased away hundreds of his supporters camped there.

It is being told that the policemen first met the PTI supporters present in the residence resulting in violence.

The policemen searched the house after demolishing the main gate and walls of the house. According to Geo News, the police claimed that during this operation, shots were fired at its jawans from inside the residence.

Ten of Imran’s supporters were injured in police action after Imran went to Islamabad to attend the Toshakhana case hearing.

At a press conference here, senior PTI leaders Shireen Mazari, Fawad Chowdhary and Shahbaz Gill condemned the massive crackdown on Khan’s residence on Saturday and the brutal crackdown on PTI workers by the police.

Speaking to Geo News, Home Minister Rana Sanaullah alleged that the police were fired upon from inside the residence. He said that all the ‘terrorists’ who were inside the Zaman Park residence have been nabbed. He claimed that explosives, petrol bombs and bomb-making materials were recovered from the spot.

When asked whether the government wanted to arrest Khan. To this Sanaullah said that the PTI chief had got bail even before he was arrested. The minister said the government wanted him to appear in court.
