Dhaka, ANI. Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI is trying to destabilize Bangladesh by strengthening the roots of Islamic terrorism in Dhaka. According to Bangladesh Live News report, stressing on the role of ISI apart from Lashkar, Bangladesh Minister Hassan ul-Inu said that Pakistan’s intelligence agency has been trying to destabilize Bangladesh since Bangladesh’s independence and These aspects cannot be ignored.
The links between terrorism in Bangladesh and its support by Pakistan came to the fore in the 2016 Holy Artisan Bakery attack in Dhaka, which killed 20 people from five different countries. The attack was carried out by Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). According to the Bangladesh Live News report, raids after the attack on the terrorist group revealed that the group was backed by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI has often been accused of supporting various terrorist groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba. As Bangladesh Live News reports, Bangladesh government investigations soon after the 2016 Dhaka attack found that JMB terrorists had gone to Pakistan and then Afghanistan for military training. According to the report, Lashkar-e-Taiba has played an important role in spreading JMB and extremism in Bangladesh.
It is being told that JMB and Lashkar-e-Taiba have started helping Rohingya Muslims living in remote areas of Teknaf and Bandarban in Bangladesh. Earlier, former Myanmar President Htin Kyaw had blamed the Rohingya terrorist group Aka Mul Mujahideen (AMM) for the attacks on the country’s border posts. The report said the Bangladesh-based AMM Harkat-ul-Jihad originated from Islami-Arakan, which has close ties with Lashkar and the Pakistan Taliban.
AMM is recruiting youth from Rohingya refugee camps and training them to carry out terror attacks in Bangladesh and India. As Bangladesh Live News reports, there has been a strong collaboration between Lashkar, JMB, AMM for over a decade. The youth of Bangladesh are sent to Pakistan for arms training. In 2012, Maulana Shabir Ahmed was arrested by Bangladesh authorities. He was found working with Rohingya terrorists in Bangladesh on behalf of Jaish-e-Mohammed, another terror group based in Pakistan.
