The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has released the data regarding Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and National Pension System (NPS). Under this, there has been an increase of 24% in the number of people joining these schemes in the last 1 year (till 30 September 2021).

With this, the number of subscribers in various schemes under the National Pension System (NPS) has increased to 4.63 crore. A year ago i.e. till 30 September 2020, the number of subscribers associated with both the schemes was 3.74 crore.

Assets Under Management also increased by 35%
According to PFRDA, the total Pension Assets Under Management (AUM) as on June 30, 2021 stood at Rs 6.67 lakh crore, which shows a 34.84% year-on-year growth. The number of subscribers under Atal Pension Yojana has increased by 32.13% on a yearly basis and has increased to 3.13 crores.

Any person from 18 to 60 years can join the National Pension Scheme (NPS). Any individual can contribute regularly to the pension account during his/her working life. He can also withdraw a part of the accumulated money in one go and use the remaining amount to get regular income after retirement.
