More than 150 pharma industrialists have shown interest to take a plot in the upcoming Pharma and Life Science Park in Barwala. The last date for registration for this was October 8. The e-auction will now be held on October 25. Only industrialists who have registered can participate in it. Industrialists from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Himachal have applied for plots in Barwala. For the pharma industry in Barwala, earlier large size plots were planned in an area of 50 acres.
These included 32 plots of 1800 square meters, 2 plots 2.2 acres, 1 plot 1.3 acres, 1 plot 3.11 acres, two plots 0.65 acres, 26 plots of one acre area. On the demand of the industrialist, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited changed the size of the plots. Now the number of small sized plots has been increased here.
Now 1012 square meter 65, 1800 square meter 50, 10 plots of one acre will be allotted. For taking a plot in Barwala, the estimated rate of allotment has been fixed at Rs 11,600 per square meter. Sites have been kept for Pharma Manufacturing Unit, Medical Device Unit, Drug Testing Laboratories, other allied facilities in the e-auction. In order to invite the pharma industry to take a plot in Barwala, HS IIDC Managing Director Anurag Agarwal also held a meeting with the members of United Pharma Association North Region in the first week of August at Mini Secretariat, Sector-17, Chandigarh.
So far 82 plots have been allotted, 37 have been taken by people associated with the pharma industry.
There are 448 plots of different sizes in 526 acres in the Industrial Area Phase-2 being built in Barwala. The Barwala Industrial Area was planned in the year 1998-99. At that time, a plan was made to develop an industrial area in a lesser area. In Phase-2, 448 plots of different sizes have been kept in 526 acres area. In these, industrial plots ranging from 450 square meters to one acre, two acres, five acres have also been kept.
If any big industry wants to set up here, then more area will also be allotted to it. In March 2021, 82 industrial plots were allotted. Of these, 37 plots have been taken by people associated with the pharma industry. These include many big pharma industries like Elna Biotech, Bio Max, Amulya Herbs Pvt Ltd, LJ Pharmaceutical, Farlax Pharmaceutical, GNP Naturals Pvt Ltd, Cubic Lifescience Pvt Ltd.
Industrialists are shifting here from Himachal
At present, there is a large number of pharma industries in Baddi, Himachal. Most of the people who set up the pharma industry in Baddi live in Panchkula district. These people daily do up-down from Panchkula to Baddi. In the industrial area of Baddi, 90 percent of the plot owners who set up the pharma industry are residing in the tricity-Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. The Himachal government had given many concessions to promote the pharma industry. These concessions were given for 10 years. Now other types of facilities including tax rebate have been discontinued. Because of this, the Haryana government is taking advantage of this and trying to develop the industrial area being built in Barwala as a pharma hub.
Plots of different sizes have been planned on the demand of the people. Planning approval is an under process. The planning approval is expected in a couple of days from the Managing Director of HS IIDC. The number of small plots has been increased on the demand of the people. The number of people who have registered for the e-auction is expected to be between 150 and 175. Its final number has not come yet.
