Police got huge success: 50 sacks of sawdust found from a truck filled with 425 sacks of onions, two caught

The truck was coming to Moga from Madhya Pradesh carrying 425 sacks of onions. On search of the truck in the town of Badhni Kalan, 50 sacks of sacked poppy were recovered. Police arrested two accused on the spot and registered a case under NDPS Act.

SSP Gulneet Khurana told during the press conference on Wednesday evening that SPD Ajay Raj Singh, DSP Nihal Singh Wala Manjeet Singh and SHO of Badhni Kalan, Inspector Pratap Singh, on the basis of secret information, searched a truck full of onions from Madhya Pradesh. On unloading all 425 bags of interest, 50 sacks of sawdust were recovered. The police seized the truck and the sawdust. Out of the recovered sawdust sacks, 10 quintal quantity has come out. Police remand for 2 days was given to the arrested accused after presenting them in the court.

The SSP said that among the arrested accused, 16 cases have been registered against Paramjit Singh Pamma resident of village Daulewala in different police stations. Out of them 12 cases are registered for drug smuggling. He was serving 10-year imprisonment in Faridkot jail in four drug trafficking cases. In April 2022, Paramjit Singh Pamma was to return to jail on May 21 after getting parole for 8 weeks, but instead of returning to jail by the convicted prisoner, he jumped parole and started the business of drug smuggling. Not only this, on July 9, the police had recovered drug money worth Rs 1 lakh 51,000 from the house of accused Paramjit Singh Pamma, 3 quintals of sawdust. During the raid on behalf of the police, accused Paramjeet Pamma escaped by dodging the police. The police officer says that similarly, about 6 cases of drug smuggling are registered against Harpreet Singh of Dharamkot town. The truck in which the Churapost was being brought belongs to Harpreet Singh.
