Maoists have blasted IED in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. A jawan of SSB 33 Battalion has been injured in the IED blast. The injured jawan has been brought to the hospital in Antagarh by his companions. The jawan has suffered serious injuries. After first aid, preparations are being made to refer to Raipur.
After the IED blast, the Maoists also opened fire on the soldiers. To which the soldiers gave a befitting reply. The encounter between the jawans and the Naxalites lasted for about 15 to 20 minutes. Kanker SP Shalabh Sinha has confirmed the incident.
As usual, the jawans of Kosarunda camp of Tadoki police station area were out on Friday for the search of the area. To harm the soldiers, the Maoists already had an IED plant. During the search, there was a loud explosion due to the foot of 1 SSB jawan GP Surendra coming on the IED. The jawan has suffered serious injuries to his legs.
Shortly after the blast, the Maoists who were already ambushed on the other side of the river opened fire on the soldiers. The soldiers also gave a befitting reply to the bullets of the Maoists. Seeing the soldiers getting heavy in the encounter, the Maoists have fled towards the forest. Search is on for the spot of the incident.
