At the same time, now the company has increased the prices of all the variants of Taigun by Rs 4,200. The company offers the car in five variants: Comfortline, Highline, Topline, GT and GT+. The updated rates for the VW Taigun have been made in the range of Rs. 10,54,200 Lakh (Ex-showroom) to Rs. 17,54,200 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
Since its entry into the Indian automotive market, the VW Taigun has received an overwhelming response from customers, garnering over 18,000 bookings. Even the waiting period of this car is more than 2 months. However, the waiting period for Volkswagen Taigun SUV in India is applicable only for select variants.
Design & Features
Coming to the design of the Volkswagen Taigun, the headlamps with Volkswagen’s signature SUV grille at the front have been positioned in such a way that it looks like an extension of the grille. It also gets integrated LED DRLs, while the headlamps are available either as LED or halogen depending on the variant. The top-end GT line edition of the SUV gets various features like carbon fiber and silver finished inserts on the dashboard, fully digital instrument cluster, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment screen, wireless phone charger, automatic climate control with touch. Engine and Power:
The Volkswagen Taigun is based on the company’s MQB A0 IN platform. This is the same platform that was used in the Skoda Kushak as well. Let us tell you that this platform has been specially designed keeping in mind the Indian roads. The new Volkswagen Taigun mid-size SUV is offered with two petrol engine options, including a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. The SUV gets a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a 6-speed torque converter is available with the 1.0L TSI.
The company has given a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox to the 1.5L TSI EVO engine. The 3-cylinder turbo engine is capable of producing 115PS of power and 178Nm of peak torque. At the same time, the 1.5L TSI EVO engine is capable of producing 150PS of maximum power output and 250Nm of peak torque. It also gets 7-speed DSG and paddle shifters.
